SCLERODERMA: A MANAGEABLE DISEASE

Scleroderma (sclero = hard + derma = skin) is an uncommon autoimmune disease that can affect men or women at any age.  Cold fingers (Raynaud’s phenomenon) (pronounced: ray nodes) is often the first symptom.  The clinical problems vary from mild to severe multisystem disease.  Treatment is available for Scleroderma that can greatly improve the quality of life.

The Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center specializes in the care of patients with scleroderma and related conditions. Our doctors are attending physicians and full time faculty members at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
